A Creative Lupus production
A horror short. 15 minutes. London.
One house. One bathroom. One thing that has been living in her for years.
Logline
Delilah heads home after an ordinary day at work. Waiting inside is the most terrifying fight of her life, against an enemy who knows her better than anyone.
A woman in her thirties is alone in her own home, and alone with her addiction to heroin. She has made the house a fortress. The thing she is fighting has found its way in anyway: in the mirrors, in the pipes, in the quiet between rooms.
Over fifteen minutes the house closes in around her, from hallway to landing to bathroom, until the two of them are finally in the same room. She resists. It is patient. It never raises its voice.
People have always given appetite a face. In the oldest stories, the demon of comfort never drags anyone anywhere. It sits down beside you, in the smallest room of the house, and offers an easier way.
Addiction works the same way. The monster in Me & Me is not an intruder. It's a lodger: familiar, reasonable, and wearing her face.
She dies of an overdose, in her own bathroom.
The film doesn't rescue her and it doesn't punish her. We don't show preparation, and there is nothing in the frame to learn from or to want. We stay on the room, and then on the empty house.
A closing card will point viewers to UK support services.
Me & Me looks at the private, domestic side of addiction, the part that happens behind a front door. We tell it as horror because that is how it feels from the inside.
Symmetry and doubles. Mirrored compositions, cold clinical light, and one saturated red against a controlled frame.
The house as a dollhouse. A slow, deliberate camera, shadowed doorways, warm practical light, and dread allowed to sit in the frame.
We shoot in London, inside a real Victorian house: high ceilings, period tiles, a long mirror, a deep bath. The architecture does half the work.
One address, a small crew, and a contained shoot. The film moves through the house room by room, and the camera ends where she does, in the bathroom.
A woman in her thirties. She carries every scene, and she plays both sides of the mirror: herself, and the thing that wears her face.
Casting open
We'll be looking for an actor who can be quiet on screen and still frightening.
£10,000approx.
A contained 15-minute short on one location. This is an indicative split, to be finalised with our producer.
Lead actor, a small crew, and the support a heavy subject deserves on set.
The Victorian house, set dressing, and the practical effects for the monster.
Camera and lens package, practical lighting, and location sound.
Edit, colour, sound design and mix, and score.
Production insurance, submission fees, and a small safety margin.
Me & Me is not a campaign film and it doesn't offer a cure. It shows what addiction can look like from the inside, and it ends honestly.
We're looking for roughly £10,000 from charities that support people affected by drug addiction, and who want their name behind a piece of narrative work.
In return: a supporter credit, advice from your team on how we portray addiction, a closing card signposting support, and an optional post-screening conversation tied to your work.
